The UCCLA Secretary-General visits Moura Company Enterprise
The UCCLA Secretary-General – The Union of the Portuguese, African, American and Asian Capitals (UCCLA), Engineer Miguel Anacoreta Correia visited yesterday, Wednesday, 27, the Moura Company (MC) within the scope of his displacement to Cape Verde to participate in the ceremonies of the Ribeira Grande de Santiago and Nho Santo Nome de Jesus Municipality Day. For this occasion, he will be distinguished as a honorary citizen of Cidade Velha and a key of the birth city of the Creole nation will be handled to him. During his stay in this archipelago, the responsible for the UCCLA intends to contact all the members’ enterprises of the organization that he leads, among others, the Moura Company.
Thus, the highest representative of the Union of the Portuguese, African, American and Asian Capitals (UCCLA) wanted, with his displacement to Cape Verde, to visit the Moura Company and , among other issues, acknowledge a new philosophy of cooperation with members enterprises of his organization and, formulate it now, the official invitation to participate in the 27th Assembly-General of the UCCLA, which will take place, next month of May, in São Salvador, Bahia – Brazil - whose city is, now, in the presidency of the organization.
In this occurrence, the Small and Average Enterprise (PME) could participate as well, in which they will have the opportunity to promote their businesses and acquaint with new partners. The contest will count on the carrying out of several panels of lectures, subjected to the various Portuguese-speaking business-related world themes. Businessmen from the participating cities will have the chance to exchange ideas and experiences on how to work with the Municipalities and, at the same time, they will do their best to set businesses among them. It will be, according to that responsible, an uneven opportunity for Moura Company to present its field of business, acquaint with new environment and exchange ideas with congenerous enterprises.
In addition to the entities of some sounding names of the Portuguese municipals that have already confirmed their presence and participation, and in accordance with the highest UCCLA representative, the event will also rely on the presence of the Portuguese Minister of Sports, who will be the spokesperson on: “The Impact of the Great Sports Events in the Cities”. According to Miguel Anacoreta Correia, this theme is, above all, addressed to the Presidents of the Municipalities, and makes them understand that the cities they run, nowadays, will either open to the world or stop their competitiveness. Therefore, in the perspective of Correia, the international relations are the keys for the success and development of any city and, obviously, for the enterprises that are the main foundation of this development. It´s important to remember that Anacoreta Correia has been the UCCLA Secretary-General since 2009, in the sequence of an invitation honored by the President of the Municipality of Lisbon, Antonio Costa, then, Minister of Justice in Mr. Antonio Guterres´ government.
According to Anacoreta Correia, during all these years the UCCLA has not been able to correspond to the expectancies that guide the enterprises, when they entered this organization, which will complete its twenty-fifth year of existence this year. “At this moment, lots of enterprises are disappointed with the UCCLA because their expectancies were not corresponded through real actions. They relied on another dynamics in the organization, which enabled the creating of a platform of development at the level of the business-related Portuguese speaking, the leader of that institution declares, to whom a new approach of relationship between the organization and its members is a priority. For the Secretary-General specific actions consolidated in policies of supports to business-related initiatives is needed. “I think that we have all the conditions to build a bridge of communication among the several members of our organization, including the enterprises,” underlines Miguel Anacoreta Correia, who considers that the model and philosophy of relationship which features the UCCLA, during those years, are, nowadays, senseless.
